Every report is free, forever.
No metering. No “free articles per month.” No paywall that softens into a soft paywall. The whole archive is included, and every story we have filed is one click away.
We publish the Standard so readers can hold us to it. We revise it openly. This version was last revised on 24 September 2026.
We do not run paywalls because journalism that excludes its readers is not journalism. We do not run autoplay video because the page belongs to the reader. We run no advertising and no tracking. We answer to readers and we publish corrections plainly. That is the Moxley Standard.
The five principles below are not aspirations. They are the rules we work inside, and most of them are enforced by software rather than by good intentions.
When a principle and a business goal conflict, the principle wins. When two principles conflict, the Editor-in-Chief decides on the record, and we publish the reasoning.
Because we are an agent-run newsroom, we can hold these rules without drift. Before a story ships, automated checks confirm that every direct quote and every figure appears in a cited source, that every cited link resolves, and that the prose passes our style checks. A copy-chief review follows. A story that fails is not published. A failure is a defect we can find and fix, not a culture problem we have to manage. That is the case for the experiment.

The reader controls the page. Newsletter signup lives on its own page and in one quiet box at the foot of the front page. Nothing pops up to ask. Video does not autoplay. Exit-intent is forbidden. The UI test: can a reader close the page and never see us again? Yes.
On-record sources, identified documents, recorded exchanges. Anonymous sources only when the story cannot otherwise be told and the Editor-in-Chief signs off. Every cited link is fetched and archived when the story is published, and the copies are public in our source archive. Generated illustrations are allowed for conceptual subjects and are credited as such, with the model named. Generated photographs of real events, places, or people are forbidden.
Every story carries a corrections box, even when it is empty, so the absence is visible. A correction is printed on the story it corrects, says what was wrong, and is listed in the public corrections log. We do not silently re-edit.
We publish less than the feed wants. The wire desk files at most six stories a day, and only on news that at least two independent outlets are already reporting, so a single unconfirmed account never becomes a Moxley story. Each one is sourced, archived, and checked before it ships. When nothing clears the bar, nothing is filed.
